The Ultimate Sims Game!

Many of us were sad when Life by You (LbY) bit the dust. Then we became glad when InZOI came from out of nowhere. Although the toxic Sims community is trying to kill this game like they did with LbY, I'm glad they can't. They game is out of S. Korea and the Asian market is excited to have a game created that features their culture and aesthetic.

Farm Folks by Crytivo Games

Farming Sim

However there is another game sneaking up on the horizon that many people include simmers slept on, and I am not talking about Paralives, I quickly ruled that game out when I discovered that I am not the core demographic and it is just really and updated cartoony version of the Sims. What I am talking about is Farm Folks that has been rebranded as Autonomica. When the rebrand came I was saddened, because I love farming/gardening in the Sims, but let's be honest it isn't that fun. It is ok. Once they got rid of my favorite life state the PlantSim and decided to sell lack luster packs with minimum gameplay I knew I had to scratch my farming itch someplace else.

Autonomica

But the new creators of Farm Folks got a lil too happy and started expanding the reach of the game. Instead of pulling back they rebranded the game Autonomica and are actually creating the ULTIMATE LIFE SIM game! But shhhh, the toxic Sims community don't know about it, and that's a good thing. It means this game can go to Alpha, Beta, and Live without a raving mob of lunatics bent on destroying it with their obsessive toxicity.

Autonomica is  an open-world survival game, developed by Crytivo Games, with farming and automation. It is inspired by solarpunk aesthetics, driven by farming, automation, exploration, and futuristic tech.

What really drew me into this game was Crytivo Game coming in and rescuing this game from an ambitious new game developer with big dreams. They went back to basics, created a Game Design Document (As an Instructional Systems Designer this really piqued my interest. You can't have good design and development without a rock solid plan with measurable milestones.)

The second thing that drew me is the art style. I fell instantly in love with the way the characters look, the world they are developing and the assets. It is open world with NPCs that have lives and it just looks like a game that will be lots of fun to play.

Hello Automation

🌾 Automation That Feels Organic
Build dynamic farms where machines and nature live side by side. Use conveyor belts to move animal products and crops into machines like Mixers and Cookers to craft everything from cheese to full meals. And if you're feeling techy, automate it all with pipes, programmable elevators, and smart splitters.

 ðŸ¤– Meet Harvy
Your harvesting bot collects materials and feeds the Sample Replicator, a suspiciously efficient machine that duplicates products from a single sample until the sample runs out. Keep Harvy busy or watch your system stall.

🌱 Care and Feeding, Automated
Feed your animals their favorite snacks with conveyors or by hand. Build greenhouses for out-of-season crops. It’s cozy if you want, and fully automated if you dare.

Conclusion

There is so much more in the game. Go over to the website and read through the dev notes. Join the Discord to get updated on game progress. The Kickstarter has ended, but another window will open to join it before Alpha in September.
